Hey What’s Up Hello!

My name is Yasmin Wamala and in case you were unaware, this is my blog. I was born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. However, I currently spend a good amount of my time on Long Island in New York where I attend Hofstra University as a Journalism major and a Global Studies minor.

Writing has been a love of mine for years, since my elementary school days when I spent most of my free time writing my own short stories and what not. Throughout the years, I experimented with any and all types of writing. It was sophomore year of high school that I discovered journalism is what I want to do with the rest of my life.

My other passion in life is performing, specifically singing, acting and dancing. This aspect of my life also came into play during my elementary school days, and since I started performing I’ve had a need to always have at least one of the three in my life.

My love for writing and performing can very clearly be seen through the groups and clubs I’ve choosen to take part in at Hofstra. I am a member of Hofstra University’s Association of Black Journalists and the Hofstra chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. I am also a member of Hofstra’s hip hop dance team, Imani Dance Ensemble.

In addition to everything I do at Hofstra I’ve been a writer and contributor for Tha L Spot Ent. & P.R. LLC, a public relations and networking company geared towards all things entertainment, and a writer for Montage Entertainment and Media, where we discuss topics in celebrity news, lifestyle, what’s trending and opinions on what matters most. Currently I am a writer for a newly launched blog, Fully Clipped.

And that’s about all there is to it. I thank you for taking the time to get to know a little more about me as well for any and all support, comments, criticism, suggestions or requests.

I can be contacted via email, ywamala@hotmail.com. Follow me on twitter @ywamala. And be sure to keep an eye on ya girl; This is only the beginning. Nowhere to go but up!

Thanks again and enjoy!
